Monika conducts abortion referrals trainings and supports training excellence in Provide’s program states, works to expand Provide’s network in target systems, and supports the Director of Program Implementation. She has been in the field of advocacy for women and girls for over 25 years. A graduate of Virginia Union University via Washington, DC, she relocated to Columbia, SC in 1999. In 2002, she founded a non-profit organization called Dedicated Individually to Valiantly Assist (D.I.V.A) Inc., focusing on prevention, intervention and education around domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse for girls and young women. Her passion and tenacity brought about significant change in the mindset of many advocates for the holistic health of women and girls in South Carolina. Monika is currently very active with Women’s Rights & Empowerment Network (WREN), Fannie’s House, (a non-profit focused on awareness of Human Trafficking), Planned Parenthood, Richland County Syphilis/HIV Awareness, Prevention & Elimination (S.H.A.P.E.) Coalition, as well as the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Monika spends her spare time volunteering with grassroots movements that mentor girls and young women. For fun, she enjoys line dancing, adult coloring and writing poetry.
